Tanmay Jewellers
Manual price updates consuming 4 hours every morning
JewelleryOS automated pricing engine with MCX live sync
Zero minutes spent on price updates; 38% revenue increase in 6 months
“We were spending 4 hours every morning updating prices before the store opened. Now prices are correct before I even finish my chai. That time goes into training our staff and building customer relationships.”

The challenge
Tanmay Jewellers has been a fixture of the Surat jewellery market since 1987. With a 2,400-product catalogue spanning 22K and 18K gold in rings, bangles, necklaces, and earrings, they are one of the largest family-run stores in the city.
As gold prices on MCX move every morning, the full catalogue had to be repriced before customers arrived. Two staff members would spend from 8 AM to noon opening their website admin, checking the day's rate, and updating each product one by one.
The problem wasn't just time. It was the errors. A wrong decimal in a weight field. A product left at yesterday's price. A category that got skipped. Every error was either a loss when sold at the wrong price, or a frustrated customer who got called back to pay more.
Why generic platforms couldn't help
Tanmay had tried a Shopify plugin that promised gold price automation. It pulled the day's gold rate correctly, but it couldn't handle their making charge structure, which varied by product category, weight bracket, and design complexity.
A plain multiplier against the gold rate doesn't capture the reality of jewellery pricing. A delicate filigree bangle has different making charges than a plain wedding band even if they weigh the same amount.
After three months of the plugin producing wrong prices on complex products, they abandoned it and went back to manual updates.
The JewelleryOS solution
During the onboarding call, the JewelleryOS team built a pricing formula that matched exactly how Tanmay prices their products. Making charges by category and weight bracket. Wastage percentages by metal type. Hallmarking fees. All of it encoded once into the platform.
From that point forward, when MCX publishes the morning gold rate, JewelleryOS recalculates every product in the catalogue automatically. The update happens before Tanmay's staff arrives. By the time the store opens, every price is correct.
The setup took 30 minutes. The first fully automated morning happened on day 6 after signing up.
The results
The most immediate impact was the four hours returned to the team every morning. Those hours now go into staff training, visual merchandising, and customer follow-up calls.
The more surprising result was revenue. In the six months following launch, Tanmay's online revenue increased 38%. The team attributes this to two things: faster order processing now that staff aren't buried in admin, and customer trust from consistent, accurate pricing.
Tanmay is now expanding to a second location and plans to add a WhatsApp ordering integration in Q3.
