Unable to show GIA-certified inventory online with live Rapaport pricing
JewelleryOS 4C diamond builder with Rapaport pricing and GIA certificate management
3.1x conversion increase, $2,400 increase in average order value
“We had 1,800 GIA-certified stones in our inventory that we couldn't show online properly. Every platform we tried either couldn't handle the 4C variables or couldn't price them in real time. JewelleryOS solved both in the first week.”

The challenge
New York Diamond Co. operates as a mid-market certified diamond retailer serving engagement ring buyers across the Northeast. Their inventory consists primarily of GIA and IGI-certified round brilliants, princess cuts, and fancy shapes, ranging from 0.5ct to 3ct.
Diamond pricing doesn't work like gold. It's not a simple weight-times-spot-price calculation. Cut, color, clarity, and carat interact in complex ways. A 1ct G-VS1 round brilliant commands a very different premium over a 1ct J-SI2, even though both weigh exactly 1 carat.
Their previous Shopify store treated every diamond as a flat-priced SKU. Updating 1,800 stones manually against Rapaport's weekly price list was physically impossible. Most of their inventory never made it online.
The complexity of diamond ecommerce
Customers searching for certified diamonds search with extreme specificity. 'GIA 1.01ct E-VS1 round brilliant' is a real search query from a real buyer with real intent. Shopify's product variant limit of 100 makes it impossible to express a diamond's full specification grid.
Beyond search, the buying experience matters enormously. Diamond buyers want to see the stone's GIA report, understand how each of the 4Cs affects the price, and configure the setting separately. None of this is possible on a generic platform without months of custom development.
The JewelleryOS solution
JewelleryOS's diamond module was built specifically for this use case. Each stone is entered once with its full GIA or IGI specification. The platform automatically generates SEO-optimized product pages for each stone's exact specification.
The 4C diamond builder lets customers adjust cut, color, clarity, and carat on a ring setting and see the price update in real time. Rapaport pricing means the price is based on current market data, not last week's manual update.
GIA certificate PDFs attach directly to each product and display on the product page. Customers can verify their stone's grading report before purchase.
The results
Within 90 days of launch, New York Diamond Co.'s online conversion rate had increased 3.1x. The team ties this to customer trust: buyers can see the GIA report, understand the pricing, and build their ring before paying.
Average order value increased by $2,400. Higher-specification stones that were previously unsellable online, because the platform couldn't express their quality attributes, now sell regularly through search traffic.
Their 1,800-stone inventory is now fully live online with daily Rapaport price updates applied automatically.
